Report: Bristol City U18s 3-0 Colchester United U18s

City Under-18s continued their promising start to 2017 with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Colchester United.

Ricardo Rees stepped off the bench at half-time to score twice, before George Nurse’s stunner put the seal on the victory.

The first half was a tight affair and City had to dig deep to maintain the deadlock going into the interval.

Rees’ introduction at the break kick-started City’s game and he produced a quick-fire brace to put Trevor Challis’ side in the driver’s seat.

It was left to Nurse to put the icing on the cake, cutting in from the right side and sending a 30-yard piledriver into the top corner to kill the game as a contest.

“It was a very positive display from the boys,” coach Challis said. “We had to soak up a lot of pressure in the first half, which we did well.

“We changed a few things at the break and it really paid off. We’ve scored three really good goals and deserved the win.”

City Under-18s: Carey, Spark, Harvey Smith, Barry, Nurse, Morton, Reeves, Richards (Mortimore), Ali (Taylor), Day (Rees), Akpobire.
