City Under-18s recorded a fourth win in five matches thanks to Jack Turner’s brace against Coventry City on Saturday.
The big defender scored twice in the opening six minutes to earn victory at SGS College.
The first goal came after just 30 seconds as a well-worked corner kick routine saw Zac Smith cross for Turner to tuck the ball home.
Soon after Zac Smith whipped the ball into the box and Vince Harper’s powerful header was parried out. Turner was the man on the spot again to convert the rebound.
Antoine Semenyo and Marcus Day both had chances to extend the lead, but City were comfortable and earned a second straight clean sheet.
Coach Trevor Challis said: “The boys have got that winning feeling at the moment and it was a terrific start for us. If we had scored a third then it probably would have been a rout, but Coventry grew into the match and made it difficult for us.”
City Under-18s: Sainsbury, Turner-Williams, Ali, Z.Smith (Mortimore), Turner, Spark, Rees (S Pearson), Harry Smith, Semenyo, V.Harper, Day.
