City rounded off their Easter campaign with a share of the points against Sheffield United courtesy of Chris Martin’s early second-half goal.
Martin clocked up his 10th goal of the campaign from Antoine Semenyo’s assist before the Blades equalised on the hour through Morgan Gibbs-White.
The draw secured the Robins four points from the games against Stoke City and play-off chasing Sheffield United.
Nigel Pearson made one change from the side that beat Stoke City 1-0 with Han-Noah Massengo starting in place of Joe Williams as the midfielder’s game-load is managed.
Andy King was included in the match-day squad for the first time since the Cardiff City win in January after recovering from injury, while Academy player Duncan Idehen was also included on the bench.
✍️ WHAT HAPPENED?
The Blades had the better of the first-half chances, including a golden one for Iliman Ndiaye, who blazed over from close range with only Dan Bentley to beat.
Bentley had been called up in the 10th minute when he saved from the visitors’ top scorer Gibbs-White, while Edna Stevens almost broke the deadlock just before the break but he put his shot just wide.
City had few chances though Semenyo looked dangerous and won several free-kicks though they failed to result in clear opportunities.
City, who lost Jay Dasilva to injury three minutes after the break - replaced by Ayman Benarous – got the perfect start in the second half.
Bentley’s clearance found Semenyo, who skipped past his marker and provided the perfect ball for Martin to score.
The Blades went level on the hour when Stevens’ shot was saved by Bentley but Gibbs-White reacted quickest to score from close range.
Nahki Wells replaced Semenyo in the 69th minute - the striker coming off as a precaution after pulling up - and he almost grabbed the winner when he fired wide after being released by Massengo.
Both sides pressed hard for a winner, which almost fell to Rob Atkinson, who had another solid afternoon, but the defender put his shot over.
