City Under-18s suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of their Birmingham City counterparts on Saturday.
Trevor Challis’ side found themselves behind early on, although Zac Smith came within a whisker of equalising with a headed effort before half-time.
The Blues made it 2-0 soon after the restart, before a crucial moment in the game.
City looked to reduce the deficit when substitute Kieran Smith raced clear of the defence, but he couldn’t beat the keeper.
And Birmingham completed the scoring before the end to give the final scoreline a very one-sided look.
City Under-18s: Begovic, Turner-Williams, Webb, Z.Smith, Ali, Turner, Rees (K.Smith), Harry Smith, V.Harper (Spark), Day, Mortimore.
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
