City continued their run of good form with Friday’s 1-0 win over Barnsley.
The game came to life inside the 19th minute when Tommy Conway’s penalty opened the scoring.
Zak Smith was fouled in the box and Conway stepped up with his right-footed effort placed to the goalkeeper’s left.
The striker could have stretched City’s lead but saw a lobbed effort saved before he struck over the bar.
At the other end, Harvey Wiles-Richards pulled off a save to deny Barnsley from a free kick, as the visitors to the Oakwell Training Ground took a half-time lead.
In truth it was a second half of limited chances, though Wiles-Richards was called into action to deny Barnsley from levelling, this time from the penalty spot.
Saikou Janneh came off the bench to mark his return from a hamstring injury, while Callum Wood replaced Bradley Webb and Ayman Benarous came on for Louis Britton as the Robins saw out the three points.
In other positives, James Taylor, Aden Baldwin and Barney Soady all earned their first 90 minutes after respective injuries, while it was another full game completed for midfielder James Morton.
Next up for the development group is at home to Millwall on Tuesday (March 30th, 1pm KO).
