Reid Ready To Stake Claim

Bobby Reid has set his sights on a starting role in the Bristol City side next season.

The 22-year-old returned to Ashton Gate following a loan spell with Plymouth Argyle last season, and netted one of five goals in Sunday’s friendly against Brislington and Keynsham Town.

Reid spent the majority of the 2014/15 campaign at Home Park, guiding the Pilgrims to a place in the Sky Bet League Two play-offs.

The midfielder claims he gained “a lot of experience and game know how” under John Sheridan and is now ready Is ready to compete for a place in Steve Cotterill’s side.

He told Bristol City Player HD: “I’m just trying to come back and stake a claim in the team.

“I want to be playing like everyone else does and that’s what I’m going to try and achieve this season.”

Reid came through the academy system at City alongside wing-back Joe Bryan.

After making his debut in 2012, Bryan has gone on to become a regular in the first team - something which Reid is looking to match.

“I’m happy for Joe,” he said.

“If I can emulate what he’s done then, why not?”

City travel to Twerton Park to face Bath City on Friday night, where Reid and Bryan will look to be involved.

Tickets are priced at £10 for Adults, £7 for Concessions, £5 for Students/under-18s, while under-16s can get in for just £1.
