Hayley Ladd, Jasmine Matthews, Georgia Evans, Loren Dykes have signed new contracts with Bristol City Women.
Welsh International Hayley Ladd joined the club at the start of the 2015 season from Coventry City and immediately made an impact, clocking up 21 appearances over the course of the season.
Bristol City Women’s manager Willie Kirk spoke of his delight at the four players re-signing for the club, commenting: "I’m delighted that we are able to confirm the first four players that have re-signed from last year’s squad. Hayley has started every game since I came to the club and I see her as a player with massive potential. She is going to be a very important player for us this year and I think that this could be a big twelve months for her in terms of her developing different aspects of her game. I am really looking forward to working with her for at least another year.
Jasmine Matthews joined the club’s Centre of Excellence in 2010 and has since featured regularly in the first team squad having impressed in the college and development squads.
"In terms of Jas, I felt that it was only right that we continue to support her as she continues her determined fightback from a serious injury. Unfortunately for both of us, she was injured in the game before I took over so it’s been frustrating not having the chance to work with her on the pitch" Kirk added.
"However, it was only six months ago that people were talking about her as a future England centre-back and although she has suffered this setback, I don’t see any reason why she can’t make a full recovery and be a pivotal member of BCWFC for many years to come."
Georgia Evans has progressed through the ranks since joining the Club’s Centre of Excellence in 2011 and has become a big part of the club, not only on the pitch but coaching the Centre of Excellence teams.
"I had no hesitation in giving Georgia her first professional contract last June and she hasn’t let me down. She continues to work hard at improving her game and although she was only 6 months into an 18 month contract, she deserved an improved deal as she moves into full time training. This will only improve her further and it’s going to be exciting to see how far she can go in the game.
Loren Dykes has made 79 appearances for the club since joining from Cardiff City Ladies and is a regular in the Wales squad with over 70 caps to her name.
"It is a joy working with Loren and she was one of my priorities when it came to re-signing players. She is such a laid back character off the pitch, yet shows a real determination and focus when it comes to her football. She is versatile in that she can play both full back and further forward and she gives us both experience and options on the pitch. She also plays a very important role in the changing room and is a real asset to the club.”
