FA Cup Third Round
The Hawthorns
Saturday, January 9th - 3pm

Bristol City travel to the midlands to take on Premier League West Brom in the FA Cup Third Round on Saturday (3pm).

All the key information on City's opponents can be found below.

In the past five seasons, West Brom have made it past the third round twice. Last year they reached the sixth round of the competition, the furthest they have ventured since losing in the semi-finals in 2007/08 to winners Portsmouth. The Baggies welcome back England keeper Ben Foster from injury plus James McClean and Salomon Rondon from suspension, and go into the match after back-to-back Premier League wins.

Tony Pulis – An unpopular figure at Ashton Gate, the 57-year-old had two spells as a player at Bristol Rovers before entering management. After two years as manager of Bournemouth, Pulis took the reigns at Gillingham and in his fourth year, his side were losing Division Two play-off finalists to Manchester City. He joined City in 1999 but six months later with his popularity at an all-time low, he left for Portsmouth. The Welshman spent seven successful years in a second spell at Stoke City leading the Potters to the Premier League. In 2013/14, Pulis was named Premier League Manager of the Year as Crystal Palace boss but after he wasn't backed in the transfer market, he left by mutual consent. He took over at the Hawthorns on January 1st 2015 with his first game being the 7-0 win in the third round of the FA Cup against Gateshead.

Darren Fletcher – Former Manchester United midfielder who amassed 340 appearances for the Red Devils in 12 years at the club, scoring 26 goals. The 31-year-old was named captain of Scotland in 2009 and has 70 caps for his country. In 2011/12, Fletcher announced he was to have an extended break from football following medical advice about his ongoing ulcerative colitis. The following season, the Scot made his return to action but missed the last few months of the season after undergoing surgery in January 2013. Fletcher joined West Brom on a free transfer on February 2nd 2015 and was given the captain’s armband on his debut.

Graham Scott is the man in the middle. He will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Antony Coggins. Mark Brown is the fourth official.

This match is all-ticket.

Bristol City 2-1 West Brom (2010) - City kept West Brom out of the top two in the Championship thanks to goals from Chris Iwelumo and Lee Johnson. The Baggies' early ascendency was rewarded by Graeme Dorrans' shot off the post. On-loan Iwelumo netted his 100th career goal to level after the break before Johnson slid the ball past Scott Carson to earn City victory.

Premier League: 13th
FA Cup: Sixth round (lost to Aston Villa)
Capital One Cup: Fourth round (lost to AFC Bournemouth)

West Brom are one of the most successful clubs in the FA Cup. The Baggies have won the competition on five occasions, with their last success coming in 1968.
