Rotherham United v Bristol City
Sky Bet Championship
New York Stadium
Saturday, November 28th (3pm)
Bristol City hope to end the month unbeaten in the Sky Bet Championship away to Rotherham United this Saturday afternoon (3pm).
After a difficult first season back in the Sky Bet Championship, Rotherham are struggling at the wrong end of the table once more and currently lie in the relegation zone. The Millers have the leakiest defence in the division (33) as well as the most defeats (11). However, Neil Redfearn masterminded a victory in the Yorkshire derby against former club Leeds United last weekend and will hope it is the start of a change in fortune.
Neil Redfearn - Former Lincoln City and Barnsley midfielder who made over 800 league appearances during his career. The 50-year-old started his managerial career in non-league with Scarborough in 2005 before taking over at Northwich Victoria. Redfearn was appointed Leeds United Under-18 coach in 2008 and took over as the Whites’ caretaker on three occasions. Redfearn was appointed on a permanent basis in 2014 but after many ups and downs under owner Massimo Cellino’s reign, he was relieved of his duties and took up the Rotherham post in October.
Matt Derbyshire - Former Blackburn Rovers striker who was a regular for England Under-21s. Spent time on loan at Plymouth Argyle and Wrexham before a surprising move to Greek champions Olympiacos. He played a major part in the club’s Greek Cup victory in 2009, coming off the bench to score twice as they went on to win on penalties. After a loan move with Birmingham City, Derbyshire moved back to England permanently with Nottingham Forest. He was loaned out twice before arriving at the New York Stadium last season.
Tim Robinson is the man in the middle. He will be assisted by Mark Duncan and Michael D'Aguilar. Tony Harrington is the fourth official.
This match is pay on the day for away fans.
LAST TIME OUT
Rotherham United 2-1 Bristol City (2014) - A James Tavernier double defeated City at the New York Stadium. The former City loanee struck after two minutes with a 25-yard effort before Wade Elliott equalised with an impressive shot from outside the area. But Tavernier sealed victory for the Millers with a well-taken free kick to keep Rotherham’s hopes of automatic promotion alive.
