Preston North End v Bristol City
Sky Bet Championship
Deepdale
Tuesday, September 15th, 7.45pm

Bristol City look to avoid their third straight defeat in the Sky Bet Championship away at Preston North End.

Find out more about Preston North End below.

PRESTON NORTH END
After gaining promotion with City last season, the Lilywhites have also had a frustrating start to the campaign with a single win to their name. They’ve scored just three goals in their opening six matches but with Joe Garner, Will Keane, Jermaine Beckford, Stevie May and Eoin Doyle as their striking options, Preston pose an attacking threat.

MANAGER
Simon Grayson - Experienced manager who enjoyed promotion success at Blackpool, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and Preston. In February 2013 he replaced Graham Westley in charge at Deepdale and in his first full season led them to the play-off semi-finals. Grayson went one further by guiding the Lilywhites to promotion with a 4-0 win over Swindon Town in the Sky Bet League One play-off final last season.

STAR MAN
Joe Garner – Striker who was in prolific form last season, scoring 27 goals in all competition. The 27-year-old began his career at Blackburn Rovers before spells at Nottingham Forest and Watford but has produced his best form for Preston. In 112 appearances for the Lilywhites, Garner has scored 51 times but is yet to get off the mark this season.

OFFICIALS
Eddie Ilderton is appointed as the man in the middle. He will be assisted by David Storrie and Anthony Tankard. The fourth official will be Ross Joyce.

TICKETS
The match is pay on the day for away supporters.

LAST TIME OUT
Preston North End 1-1 Bristol City – Aaron Wilbraham’s 20th goal of the season put City a step closer to promotion. Jermaine Beckford opened the scoring for the hosts but Wilbraham nodded home from close range to earn City a point.

LAST SEASON
Sky Bet League One: 3rd (beat Swindon Town in the play-off final)
FA Cup: Fifth round (lost to Manchester United)
Capital One Cup: Second round (lost to Middlesbrough)
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy: Northern Area final (lost to Walsall)

DID YOU KNOW?
David Beckham scored on each of his two appearances for Preston North End, where he spent time on loan at the club in the 1994-95 season. Just eight days after his final game for North End, he made his Premier League debut for Manchester United.
