City head to the capital with the aim of taming the Lions on Saturday.
Only three league places and three points separate the two teams as they meet in the Sky Bet Championship this afternoon.
It means a win for the Robins today would give them the breathing space of six-points against a Millwall side also chasing a potential play-off spot.
Lee Johnson's men have not enjoyed the best form in recent times and with Millwall having lost only twice in the league at home since Christmas, it makes for another big ask this afternoon.
But the players will be geared up for a comeback after Tuesday night's defeat at Huddersfield and keep the pressure up on those in and around the top six.
Bristol City v Millwall:
W: 35 (36%)
D: 31
L: 31
FORM - Last five games:
Bristol City: LWLLL
Millwall: LDWLD
Assistant Head Coach Dean Holden says it is all about "looking forward" as he believes City will respond to their midweek defeat at the John Smith's Stadium.
Meanwhile, Tommy Rowe insists he and his teammates are “ready to go again” as they look to edge closer to the Sky Bet Championship play-off spots.

City fought from behind in dramatic style to overcome Millwall 2-1 at the Den and take their hopes of making the play-offs down to the final game of the season.
But in this penultimate game, Lee Gregory had volleyed the hosts into a first-half lead only for their push for a second goal to prove unsuccessful, with the post coming to City’s aid before Max O’Leary’s save from a Shaun Williams penalty.
That proved to be the turning point as Lee Johnson’s side equalised through Jamie Paterson’s exquisite free kick only four minutes later, before Famara Diédhiou pounced to hit the winner less than ten minutes from the end.
