Preview: JPT Area Semi-Final

Bristol City v Coventry City
Wednesday, December 10th, 7.45pm
Ashton Gate

All the key information on City's JPT area semi-final opponents.

COVENTRY CITY
Since the two sides met in mid-October the Sky Blues have picked up just three wins against Peterborough United and Colchester United as well as a 2-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle in previous round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. Since City’s visit to the Ricoh Arena the Steve Pressley’s side have tightened things up at the back and have kept three clean sheets in their previous four outings.

MANAGER
Steven Pressley – The tough-tackling centre-back who enjoyed spells with Rangers (twice), Coventry City, Hearts, Dundee United and Falkirk during his playing days. Pressley had a short spell as assistant manager to George Burnley for the Scottish national team but left in September 2009 following an unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign. After ending his playing career at Falkirk, he was appointed manager in February 2010 and spent three years in charge before moving to Coventry to replace Mark Robins.

STAR MAN
Reda Johnson – Summer signing Johnson has become a talismanic figure in the Coventry camp on and off the pitch. When he is in the team, the former Sheffield Wednesday man’s impact is clear – the Sky Blues have only lost two of the 12 league games he has started . The Beninese defender has helped Sky Blues to back-to-back clean sheets in the league since returning from international duty and chipped in with four goals for his new club already.

OFFICIALS
Stuart Attwell will be the man in charge, assisted by Mark Pottage and Timothy Wood. The fourth official will be Simon Hooper

TICKETS
A crowd of over 3,000 is already anticipated for the clash at Ashton Gate. Home fans can only purchase tickets in the Dolman and Williams Stands while away fans will be situated in the Atyeo Stand. Tickets are priced at Adults £10, Senior Citizens £8, Under-22s £5 and Under-12s £1.

LAST TIME OUT
Coventry City 0-3 City, Saturday, October 18th 2014 – Marlon Pack, Kieran Agard and Scott Wagstaff secured a comfortable victory for Steve Cotterill’s side.

LAST SEASON
League One: 18th
FA Cup: Fourth round (lost to Arsenal)
Capital One Cup: First round (lost to Leyton Orient)
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy: Second round (lost to Leyton Orient)

DID YOU KNOW?
Coventry have never won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy and the furthest they have progressed in the competition was to the northern area final where they suffered a 3-2 aggregate defeat to eventual winners Crewe Alexandra.
