Bristol City v Leeds
Sky Bet Championship
Ashton Gate
Wednesday, August 19th, 7:45pm

Manager Steve Cotterill and Korey Smith look ahead to tonight's match against Leeds.

LEEDS UNITED
After finishing just outside the play-offs in their debut year back in the English second tier, the Whites have finished in the bottom half of the Sky Bet Championship for the past four seasons. The former Champions League semi-finals still average crowds in the mid-20,000s at Elland Road despite their fall from grace. Leeds appointed Uwe Rosler in May 2015 making the German the club’s fifth manager in 12 months.

MANAGER
Uwe Rosler - Former Manchester City player who spent four years with the Citizens in the nineties, becoming part of the club’s folklore. The German moved into management after recovering from cancer and had spells with Lillestrom, Viking and Molde before his break in England with Brentford. He led the Bees to their highest placed finish in six years in his first season but suffered heartbreak the following year in the play-offs. He moved to Championship club Wigan in December 2013 but was relieved from the role less than a year into his tenure. Rosler was appointed the Leeds boss in May and has picked up two points in his first two league matches.

STAR MAN
Alex Mowatt - Hot prospect who progressed through the ranks at Elland Road. The youngster collected the club’s Young Player of the Year award in 2013/14 and was also awarded the Fans’ Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Yorkshire Evening Post Player of the Year. The elegant attacking midfielder had a goalscoring record of one in four last season and is considered a set-piece specialist.

OFFICIALS
Gavin Ward will be the man in the middle. Neil Radford and Lisa Rashid will be his assistants. Andy Davies is the fourth official.

TICKETS
The match is all-ticket.

LAST TIME OUT
Leeds United 1-0 Bristol City (2013) - Sean O’Driscoll’s first match in charge ended in defeat at Elland Road. Ross Barkley crossed for Ross McCormack to head past Tom Heaton.

LAST SEASON
Championship: 15th
FA Cup: Third round (lost to Sunderland)
Capital One Cup: Second round (lost to Bradford)

DID YOU KNOW?
Former City loanee Chris Wood is Leeds’ most expensive signing 13 years since Nick Barmby from Liverpool.

ODDS
Sky Bet price City at 11/10 while the draw and a Leeds win are both 12/5.
