Brighton & Hove Albion v Bristol City
Sky Bet Championship
American Express Community Stadium
Tuesday, October 20th, 7.45pm
Bristol City will hope to make it two wins in a row in the Sky Bet Championship away at Brighton on Tuesday evening.
All of the key information on Brighton can be found below.
BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION
The Seagulls have started the campaign in excellent form, winning seven of the 11 matches they’ve played so far in the league. Brighton were on course for a draw at Leeds on the weekend but veteran striker Bobby Zamora popped up with a late winner to send them four points clear at the top – his last goal for the club came 4,549 days ago.
MANAGER
Chris Hughton – Former Republic of Ireland international best known for his 13-year stint with Tottenham Hotspur. The 56-year-old stepped into management in 2009 following Newcastle’s relegation to the Sky Bet Championship. He led the Toon to the title but was sacked in December, which was ill received players and fans. Hughton was linked with various posts before taking the Birmingham job in the summer of 2011. He stayed at the Blues for a season before taking up the mantle at Norwich but was relieved of his duties with the club just above the drop zone. Hughton has been in charge of Brighton since December 2014.
STAR MAN
Tomer Hemed – Israel international who started his career at Maccabi Haifa. After six years with the club he moved to Mallorca where he netted 20 times in 90 appearances. He moved to Almeria in 2014 and was picked up by Brighton at the start of the season. The striker has five goals in seven outings so far.
OFFICIALS
Iain Williamson is appointed as the man in the middle. Carl Brook and Matt Foley will assist him and Michael Bull will be the fourth official.
TICKETS
City fans can pay on the night.
LAST TIME OUT
Bristol City 0-0 Brighton & Hove Albion – City put on a impressive display to hold play-off chasing Brighton to a goalless draw. Marvin Elliott and Liam Kelly went close for City, while the visitors rarely tested Tom Heaton.
LAST SEASON
Sky Bet Championship: 20th
FA Cup: Fouth round (lost to Arsenal)
Capital One Cup: Fourth round (lost to Tottenham Hotspur)
