City head coach Lee Johnson met with the media ahead of tomorrow's Sky Bet Championship clash with Leeds United (7.45pm kick-off).
Here’s what he had to say…
- Johnson says his team were "fantastic" in the first half at Derby, executing the game plan to perfection
- Head coach puts that down to way the central midfielders got hold of the game
- Johnson says Tammy Abraham's 21-goal haul for the season is "an outstanding achievement"
- He adds: "Matty Taylor knows how big an opportunity this is for him and he looked every bit a Championship player on Saturday"
- Slight hamstring problems for Taylor and Lee Tomlin are the only worries for Johnson heading to Leeds
- City boss predicts a "really competitive game" at Elland Road
- Johnson labels Leeds "a huge club for the Championship" but adds "we aren't playing the history, we're playing the 11 players of the here and now"
- Head coach happy with three games unbeaten but adds: "We want wins to move away from the bottom of the table"
- City's players were in yesterday for their 'full stop' meeting debriefing the Derby game and now the focus is on Leeds
- Johnson pleased with the competition for places in the squad
- Asked about Hordur Magnusson's absence, Johnson said: "As I've said before, and it's a similar situation for Scott Golbourne, if they aren't in the XI then they'll probably miss out. We have Zak Vyner who can cover the centre-back and right-back positions, and Jens Hegeler who can also drop in."
- Johnson praises the job Garry Monk is doing in "the pressure cooker environment" at Leeds
- Coach wants his team to go to Leeds with "no fear"
