City head coach Lee Johnson met with the media ahead of the Sky Bet Championship clash with Cardiff City at Ashton Gate (Saturday, midday).
Here’s what he had to say…
- Hordur Magnusson and Frank Fielding have a chance of facing Cardiff
- Gary O'Neil has shaken off a calf problem but is now ill
- Korey Smith will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with hamstring injury
- Adam Matthews has ligament damage between his hamstring and calf, meaning he'll miss anything from 2-12 weeks
- Joel Ekstrand is injured and ill
- Johnson is confident he has enough options even with a recent injuries
- Head coach expects a frantic start in the derby and a great atmosphere
- Boss says it's a great chance to "win a few hearts back"
- City remain active in the transfer market, he confirms
- Luke Freeman has been offered a new deal and was on the verge of signing. Johnson adds: "There's interest in him"
- Zak Vyner has returned to City after the conclusion of his loan at Accrington Stanley
- Arnold Garita is expected to remain at Plymouth Argyle
- Wes Burns' future will be decided in the coming weeks. Johnson says there is plenty of interest in the youngster, who has been on loan at Aberdeen - who also want to keep him
- Johnson reflects that the earlier season defeat at Cardiff was the start of the recent slump
- Johnson adds: "I'm in my dream job, my dream location and I believe we have a very bright future"
- Players will train at midday on Friday in preparation for the earlier kick-off on Saturday
- Johnson is confident City's players know all about the importance of the derby fixture
