Find out what the Robins foundation has been up to during Wellbeing Week.
The Robins Foundation Primary Stars team have been working alongside children from Greenfield E-ACT Academy and St Peters C of E primary school in south Bristol to create a Wellbeing Week in their schools and local communities.
This is part of the Premier League Wellbeing Stars initiative and has inspired children to be at the heart of social action within their schools. By meeting weekly with Robins Foundation coaches, the children have come up with acts of kindness that they will carry out throughout week commencing 17th May. These acts of kindness include things as simple as paying a teacher a compliment or holding a door open for someone, up to cooking a family member some food or helping an elderly neighbour with their shopping.
The social action groups at these schools, also known as the Game Changers, have designed posters, created newsletter articles, and even hosted a virtual assembly to help promote Wellbeing Week and encourage other children in the school to spread kindness and happiness.
Robins Foundation Primary Stars lead, James Howiantz said:
“It’s brilliant to see these young people taking initiative and leading by example to create a more positive environment in their communities. Youth led social action is a great way of empowering young people to make a change and does wonders for self-esteem and confidence. I look forward to seeing all the acts of kindness next week.”
Good luck Game Changers.
