Premier League trophy joins BCCT at primary school

The Premier League Trophy visited a primary school in Weston-super-Mare last weekend – and Bristol City Community Trust was there to join in the celebrations.

Mendip Green Primary School was one of two lucky primary schools across England and Wales that experienced a visit from the Premier League Trophy, after receiving the most Premier League Primary Stars parent nominations.

While the Premier League Trophy was at the school, Mendip Green Primary School celebrated with the Community Trust at the School Fete, with activities and photos for families, friends and pupils.

This prize giving was the culmination of the national campaign, which encouraged teachers and parents to sign-up to the free online curriculum-linked resources, which has so far seen more than 9,000 parent nominations for over 5,000 primary schools.

Premier League Primary Stars inspires girls and boys aged 5-11 in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field and is available to every primary school in England and Wales.

The website offers a range of resources specially designed to use the inspiration and fun of sport to connect pupils’ learning to the world around them, including information packs, classroom assets, videos and planning tools, all curriculum-linked for English, Maths, PE and PSHE.

Premier League Primary Stars also encompasses events like the Premier League Schools Tournament and offers, like the Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment Scheme, which has seen schools apply for free Nike strips for their school football team and special equipment packs.
