Premier League Charitable Fund Awards: Transformational Journey

From a 14-year-old boy facing unfathomable hardships, to a full-time community coach with Bristol City Robins Foundation, Conrad has been on an incredible journey and the young man deserves full recognition for overcoming adversity to be in the position that he is today.

Conrad first came into contact with City’s official charity when he began attending the Foundation’s delivery of the Premier League Kicks programme. The young man shone on the pitch as an extremely talented footballer, despite the youngster experiencing a turbulent life at home.

For Conrad, football and the Premier League Kicks programme provided a release from the challenges he faced at home.

In the face of adversity, the young man’s incredible dedication and commitment to improving the lives of those around him was clearly apparent and whilst studying within the Foundation’s education department, Conrad completed in excess of 500 hours of volunteering on both the Premier League Primary Stars and Premier League Kicks programmes.

Head of Education at the Robins Foundation, Chris Stenner, commented, “Conrad’s passion for coaching and his desire to help the local community was clear to see during his studies with us and this is highlighted by the incredible amount of volunteering that he carried out on the Foundation’s various community projects.

“It’s a pleasure to see a former student achieve such success after completing their studies.”

Within these volunteering opportunities, Conrad’s ability to inspire those around him became apparent in abundance and as a result, the young man was deservedly offered the opportunity to become an apprentice coach with Bristol City Robins Foundation.

Conrad’s dedication and exceptional ability to build relationships of trust with young people has since seen the young man become a central part of the Robins Foundation delivery team.

The young man continues to support his local community where he acts as source of great inspiration to all those he comes into contact with.

Bristol City Robins Foundation Premier League Kicks Lead Coach, Jon Pinches, said: “I’ve had the pleasure to work with Conrad over the past four years and have seen first-hand the difference he can make in the community that we grew up in.

“During this time, he has developed so much as both a coach and an individual. Conrad sets a fantastic example to the younger generation and is a true inspiration to them. He is a credit to Bristol City Robins Foundation and is a well-deserved winner of this award.

“Congratulations Conrad.”
