Luke Freeman is set for two to three weeks on the sidelines - but it could have been a lot worse.
Scan results revealed the winger's ankle injury isn't as bad as first feared, meaning he will spend the next few weeks undergoing rehabilitation.
But head coach Lee Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: "It's good really because it's only a few weeks out rather than two to three months."
Freeman has already missed two games and will also be absent for next Saturday's televised Sky Bet Championship clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at Ashton Gate.
After that comes a two-week international break, offering Freeman additional time to recuperate without missing matches.
Callum O'Dowda, meanwhile, missed the 2-2 draw at Barnsley through illness.
Siva Naulago's stunning second against Worcester Warriors has been shortlisted for The Famous Grouse Gallagher Premiership Try of the Week for round 12.
