Poppy Wilson signs professional terms with Bristol City Women

Bristol City Women are delighted to confirm that Poppy Wilson has signed her first professional contract with the club.

Wilson, 18, joined the club's Centre of Excellence in 2014 representing the Under-16 side whilst finishing her GCSE's.

A year later, the young forward enrolled at SGS College. She combined her studies with both College and Development Team commitments, achieving Distinction grades in Graphics, Illustration and Photography respectively.

Despite her tender age, Wilson is no stranger to success, she captained SGS College to ECFA Cup success and the Bristol City Women Development Squad to the Development League FA Cup title in 2017.

An age-grade international, Wilson has represented England at Under-16, 18 and 19 level.

Upon signing her first contract, Wilson said: "I'm delighted to sign my first contract at club that is so close to my heart.

"Having come through the system here it was always my goal to get a professional contract and I couldn't be happier."

Bristol City Women head coach Willie Kirk added: "We are delighted to be able to offer Poppy a contract.

"She epitomises what this club is about, young English talent that has developed and is flourishing here.

"She is a fantastic character to have around the club and she compliments the group really well. This contract is a reward for constant hard work she puts in every day."
