Pledgeball returns for Addicks clash

As partners of Pledgeball, an organisation that rallies football fans to bring about change to help to preserve our planet, on 10th October 2021 Bristol City Women face Charlton Athletic Women in a ‘Pledge-Off’.

Pledgeball encourages football fans to make sustainable lifestyle pledges in support of their team. Whilst the Robins face Charlton Athletic on the pitch, off the pitch fans will be competing to see which team of fans will pledge to save the most carbon emissions? Will Bristol City W climb the Pledgeball League?

In previous games, Bristol City W fans have pledged to save 33,592 kg of carbon emissions per year, which equates to taking more than 7 cars off the road. Bristol City W currently lie 10th in the Pledgeball League.

Go here to make your pledge as a Robins fan and to see the impact you’re having together (and to be in with a chance of WINNING tickets).

Bristol City Women fans have potential to make significant change:

  • Bristol City Women’s Twitter followers reducing their meat consumption by 50% saves the same amount of emissions as taking over 3,900 cars off the road

  • The Robins followers buying seasonal, locally produced food saves the same amount of emissions as taking over 6,900 cars off the road

And their influence stretches beyond this, as the impact of them ripple out.

Katie Cross, Founder of Pledgeball, said ‘As our first professional partners, I remain very grateful to Bristol City Women for their pioneering support and would love to see them top the Pledgeball League table.

Bristol City Women entered the Pledgeball League table very early on and now sit in 10th. With enough fans pledging this weekend, they could climb those 9 spots and sit at the top. Come on Robins fans!
