The new season has begun with Bristol City and Bristol City Women continuing their ambition to steal the title of Pledgeball League winners.
Pledgeball is a Bristol-based initiative that aims to mobilise football fans to bring about change to help to preserve our planet.
Pledgeball encourages football fans to make sustainable lifestyle pledges in support of their team. Each fixture, Robins fans will face the opposition’s fans in a ‘Pledge Off’. The amount of carbon emissions pledged to be saved by fans of Bristol City and Bristol City Women will determine whether the teams win the ‘Pledge Off’, and ultimately where each of them stand in the Pledgeball League.
Together, Robins fans could bring about significant change.
Go here to make your pledge as a Bristol City or Bristol City Women supporter and to see the impact you’re having together (and to be in with a chance of winning Bristol City hospitality and tickets).
It’s time for fans to demonstrate their collective power:
And their influence stretches beyond this, as the impact of them ripples out.
Katie Cross, Founder of Pledgeball, said: "Football fans have so much potential to make change. They’ve rallied around racism, homophobia and the ESL but, as yet, not around climate change. Their direct and indirect impact on emissions is potentially huge.
"With Bristol City and Bristol City Women leading the professional clubs in partnering with Pledgeball, Robins fans can start this change. Come on City!"
