Lee Johnson says City have the Carabao Cup quarter-final draw that both his players and the club’s supporters “deserve”.
City have been handed a home tie against Manchester United on December 19th/20th, after knocking out Watford, Stoke City and Crystal Palace en route to the last eight.
Johnson can now look forward to a meeting with Jose Mourinho just before Christmas.
Speaking exclusively to bcfc.co.uk, Johnson said: “I’m absolutely delighted for everyone. It’s the draw I asked for!
“The players deserve it for all their efforts getting to this stage of the competition and the supporters deserve it too.
“Manchester United are a massive club, steeped in history, with a world-class manager and they’ve got star players throughout their squad.
“It’s going to be a wonderful occasion when it comes around and I’m sure Ashton Gate will be packed and rocking once more.”
Welcome to Bristol City Jose .... "pop in to the office for a drink after aye " 😂
