Pedro Pereira’s first goal for the club was a vital one, as it secured the 2-2 draw versus Wigan Athletic.
The right-back’s late goal on Sunday, as he turned in Niclas Eliasson’s corner, meant City are now unbeaten at home in their last six games (W3, D3).
He said: “I’m very happy to score my first goal. It was an important goal to help the team get the point.
“After a tough game we are just focusing on the next game on Friday (Barnsley). Every game is really hard here, every team is competitive so we just need to make sure in the next game we are even sharper in everything we do to go and get the three points.”
And Pereira’s 86th-minute header meant City have now scored important late goals for the second game in a row.
He said: “We always say we have a winning mentality. We never let our heads go the opposite way. We always work together for the win and if we can’t get that we will work hard for the point.
“Ashton Gate is our fortress and we are happy to extend out unbeaten run here and we are just looking forward to continuing it in away games after.”
City now prepare for back-to-back away games versus Barnsley and Cardiff City.
