Pereira 'loving' his time at City

Pedro Pereira has settled in well to his new surroundings and enjoys the physicality of the Sky Bet Championship.

The 21-year-old right-back is tasting English football for the first time on loan at City from Benfica.

He’s played six times in the Championship to date and has explained how it has suited his development.

The Portugal Under-21 international said: “I’m enjoying a lot my time at Bristol City. I’m loving the city, I’m loving the club, all the atmosphere around the club, all the people love the football here and I’m very happy to be here.

“The Sky Bet Championship is very physical; it’s a very hard league and it helps to improve young players a lot like me.

“It has so many games, so many opportunities for everyone that you can learn a lot from it and you can grow as much as you want in one year.”

City’s ten game unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday, but if you thought defeat to Luton Town was going bring the Robins’ mood down, Pereira says people should think again.

Wednesday night under the Ashton Gate lights versus Charlton Athletic (October 23rd, 7.45pm KO) is a chance to respond and Pereira says City still have the “winning mentality” approaching the game against the Addicks.

He said: “The unbeaten run has come to an end but I think everyone is looking forward to come to play at AG to return to winning ways, to start the game as soon as possible to be back winning.

“I think nobody has lot their identity and it’s a very positive group. Everyone has a winning mentality and that will push us on to win again.

“Charlton is a good team, they are making good results recently and I think it will be a good game, doing our thing, putting our ideas on the game and doing our things to win the game.”
