John Pemberton hopes Bristol City can sign “three or four more players” between now and the end of the transfer window.
The interim boss has already welcomed loan recruits Alex Pearce and Ben Gladwin to his squad ahead of Saturday’s trip to Leeds United, but is optimistic there are new faces still to come.
Pemberton revealed bids have been made for players, and that permanent transfers are on City’s radar before the deadline on Monday, February 1st.
“We probably need three or four more players to have a good balance to the squad,” he told Bristol City Player HD.
“We’re working really hard on that. Nothing’s been finalised yet, but hopefully we’ll get there – if not by the end of this week, maybe early next week.
“We’ve made some bids as well. It’s not quite as easy as we’d like it to be, but we’ll be looking at permanent deals.”
Pemberton, who has a fully-fit squad to choose from this weekend, added that Pearce and Gladwin are in his thoughts to start the game at Elland Road.
“The pair of them have not played a lot of football,” he said.
“But would I have a problem throwing them in? No, I wouldn’t.
“We just need to have a look at where everyone else is. I spoke to them this morning and if needed, they’re both ready.”
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
