🎥 Pearson wants City to maintain high performance levels

Nigel Pearson wants his side to maintain their high performance levels as City travel to Bloomfield Road to take on Blackpool on Saturday (3pm).

The Robins head north in search of their first away win of the New Year after conceding a devastating last-minute equaliser at Deepdale last weekend.

After an improvement in recent performances Pearson now wants his side to start turning performances into points by closing off games and being more streetwise.

Speaking to Robins TV, Pearson said: “Some of our performances have been really good of late, we haven't always picked up the points we would have liked but progress is happening now.

"We do need to start transferring into a better points return but if we keep doing what we are doing at the moment that will come.

"I'm glad we managed to get Timm (Klose) in as he is a great player to have around and the other players can benefit from his experience.

"Also, it's good for our fanbase to see that we are trying to produce our own players as we have quite a few local lads in our squad which is unusual in the modern game so I think it's trying to get that balance right."

Pearson also spoke about a deserved new contract for Ayman Benarous' along with how pleased he was to see Robbie Cundy make his Bristol City debut and the progress the younger players in the squad have made.
