Nigel Pearson praised the collective effort from players and fans that saw City secure all three points against Stoke City.
Tyreeq Bakinson’s 38th-minute goal separated the sides but it was the sum of the parts that delighted Pearson and his coaching team.
The manager told Robins TV: “I thought the atmosphere and the collective spirit here today was very, very good. When the nine minutes added time went up at the end the volume in the stadium went up, the players looked very determined and all the subs who went on played a positive role.
“It was a tough game in which are opponents started very well and had chances. Tonight it was more going to be about the result than how we performed but there was some very encouraging signs for us.”
