Nigel Pearson says keeping a positive mindset is vital as the squad prepares to face West Bromwich Albion.
City have endured two difficult results at home heading into Saturday’s trip to The Hawthorns although their away form offers encouragement.
We have won four of our last five game on the road and Saturday sees the Robins backed by a 2,000 sold-out away end as they seek a response from the last week.
Manager Pearson told Robins TV: “It was disappointing again to concede late against Forest on two occasions. We need to make sure we’re ready for this game by knowing what to expect from our opponents. It’s a big challenge for us but we go there and hopefully get the right response.”
The Baggies sit third in the Championship and look to their unbeaten home run with ambitions for an immediate return to the Premier League.
But Pearson remains confident his players can find the chink in West Brom’s armour with a positive attitude.
“They’ll be a very physical side, they’re quite direct and set plays will be important in that we defend them well,” he said. “Against sides like that it’s not just about getting caught up in playing the same way, we have to recognise how we can exploit their weaknesses.
“It will be a a tough game but all games are winnable. It’s about how we approach it and I expect the players to go into the game in a positive mindset.
“I know we can’t rely on our away form too achieve success. That speaks for itself, you need a decent away record to be successful but we’re relying very heavily on it. In the short term it’s about getting the preparation right, picking the right side and going out there and perform on the day.”
City’s trip to face West Brom has sold out to away supporters, meaning there are no further tickets available. Anyone without a ticket is advised not to travel.
The Robins TV live video stream will be available to overseas supporters only, due to EFL regulations. A live audio stream will also available for supporters inside the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands.
The Matthew Bromley memorial basketball games will take place from 4pm on Saturday, May 28th at the SGS College Arena.
