Nigel Pearson says the Robins will be taking a positive mindset into an Easter weekend double-header against Stoke City and Sheffield United.
City travel to the Bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City on Friday, April 15th (3pm) before welcoming Sheffield United to Ashton Gate on Monday, April 18th (5:30pm).
The manager told Robins TV: “In many ways the players have an opportunity to go out there and free themselves and we as staff need to allow them to do that. We’ll be concentrating on the areas we have done particularly well at – scoring goals, creating chances. The players have an opportunity to go out there and show what they are about.
“We have some talented players who have made great strides this season. However people want to look at the season, I know that we have had some real successes too but unfortunately what we haven’t been is consistent enough to get results. I get as frustrated as everybody else with that. As staff we have talked about it a lot this week and that is to concentrate on the positives.
“We are always looking at how we progress and when we can. The close-season programme for the players has all been taken care off already and in terms of how we shape the squad there are plans in place. It’s always a mixture between planning for the future, looking at how you get from A to B, but of course A is the most important place and that is the present."
Pearson went on to reflect on the 1-0 win over Stoke City earlier this season, the challenge of the Potters this time, potential game time for City’s young guns and planning to have a firing Tomas Kalas returning after minor surgery back in three or four weeks.
Tickets for the game at the Bet365 Stadium are available until Thursday, April 14th at 2pm. There will no pay on the day.
The Robins' next home game sees them host Sheffield United at Ashton Gate on Monday, April 18th (5:30pm).
