Kasey Palmer starts his first game for City in tonight’s Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Bolton Wanderers at Ashton Gate (7.45pm KO).
Palmer’s two appearances off the bench since his loan move from Chelsea have seen him score the match-winner against the same opposition two weeks ago and provided a through-ball to Andi Weimann’s assist for Famara’s Diédhiou’s goal in the 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest.
The 22-year-old is joined in the midfield by Joe Morrell, impressive in the Third Round victory over Huddersfield Town, while there are also starts for club captain Bailey Wright and Niclas Eliasson.
City: Fielding (GK), Wright (C), Baker, Kalas, Dasilva, Morrell, Pack, Palmer, Eliasson, O’Dowda, Diédhiou. Subs: O’Leary, Pisano, Kelly, Brownhill, Paterson, Eisa, Weimann.
Bolton Wanders: Mathews (GK), Little, Lowe (C), Beevers, Noone, Hobbs, Murphy, Wilson, Magennis, Pritchard, Connell. Subs: Williams, Taylor, Donaldson, Ameobi, Buckley, Olkowski, O’Neil.
Chris Vui and Charles Piutau were in action in the opening round of the Pacific Nations Cup, with Tonga beaten by Fiji and Samoa edging out Australia A.
