Marlon Pack is embarking on his first pre-season as a married man after tying the knot this summer.
The 26-year-old wed long-term fiancée Lauren in Ibiza as he enjoyed some well-earned downtime away from the day job.
A number of Pack’s Ashton Gate team-mates, past and present, were in attendance, including Aden Flint, Korey Smith and Aaron Wilbraham.
“I know everyone says it, but it was the best day of my life,” the midfielder told BCTV on the first day of pre-season training.
“It was great to celebrate with all our loved ones and I had a good number of the lads there, because we’ve been through a lot here.
“This type of environment is different to your normal work. You go through a lot of emotions and become really close to people.
“Most of these boys will be friends for life and I’m really pleased they made the effort to come and enjoy the day.
“I’d been engaged for three years so we had enough time to plan it and it was quite relaxed, which is why I think everything ran smoothly and I didn’t get too nervous.
“I knew everything was in place and I knew everything was going to go well – apart from Flinty’s dad dancing! Apart from that it was a good day.”

Back at Failand, Pack and Scott Golbourne were the frontrunners for the gruelling 12-minute challenge, in which City’s players were asked to complete as many laps of the training pitch as possible in the allocated time.
“Some people say I’m better running when the ball is nowhere near me!” Pack joked.
“I think I probably proved that today, but I’ve always been quite good at the long distance stuff.
“We had a little bit of time off where we could go off, enjoy ourselves and forget about everything, but then we had our programmes to stick to.
“You’re under strict instructions to do so; otherwise there will be consequences, but judging by day one I think everybody has done that and come back in good physical condition.”
