Pack Offered New Bristol City Contract

Marlon Pack is to be offered a new deal at Ashton Gate.

The midfielder’s current deal is set to expire this summer but manager Steve Cotterill today revealed his intention to extend his stay at the club.

Pack, who signed for the club two years ago, has made 98 appearances in a City shirt, scoring three times.

“Marlon will be offered a new contract,” Cotterill told bcfc.co.uk. “The details aren’t yet there because we’ve only spoken today.

“I think he’s had a fantastic season. His form towards the back end of the season was tremendous. For him to be keeping Wade Elliott out of the team is a credit to him, rather than Wadey losing any form.

“He thoroughly deserves it (a new deal). He’s a fantastic lad; his demeanour around the place when he wasn’t in the team was second to none.

“Even when he got in the team, even though it kept Wadey out, I think Wadey was pleased for Marlon.

“I’m sure through his agent that it (the contract) will get sorted out. He’s very happy here and has a young family. They’re settled in the city.

“He’s a young player who we hope is only going to improve. His passing range is tremendous and if you’re going to be in a passing team, it’s good to keep your good passers.”
