Marlon Pack will serve a two-match suspension after collecting his tenth yellow card of the season at Leeds United.
The midfielder was cautioned in the second half of City’s 2-2 draw at Elland Road, triggering an immediate ban.
It means Pack will now sit out Wednesday’s home game with Fulham and Sunday’s Severnside derby encounter at Cardiff City.
“It’s disappointing but it’s part and parcel of the game nowadays,” City boss Lee Johnson said on BCTV.
“Marlon’s been on nine bookings for a while now. We have other players who can come in and it’s an opportunity for someone.”
Josh Brownhill limped off in West Yorkshire after taking a “whack to the calf”, but Johnson hopes his midfielder will shake off the problem in time for the visit of Fulham to BS3.
