Oxtoby named LMA Manager of the Month

Bristol City Women manager Tanya Oxtoby has been named the LMA Manager of the Month for January. 

City Women carried their impressive form from December into the New Year and remain unbeaten in eight games in all competitions.

January saw Oxtoby’s defeat Birmingham City Women 1-0 away from home as well beat West Country rivals Yeovil Town Ladies 2-1 at home and pick up a well deserved 1-1 draw against table toppers, Manchester City. 

Oxtoby’s side have become notoriously hard to beat, especially at home whilst showing great progression in their ability to break down teams when they’re in possession of the ball.

The award is the Australian’s second of the season after she won the same accolade back in September following an unbeaten opening month of the Women’s Super League season.

Tanya Oxtoby: “I would like to thank the LMA panel for the award, it’s great to have the hard work that has been going here at the club both on and off the field acknowledged, I’m really pleased for the staff. 

“We’ve got an amazing set of staff and players here that go above and beyond, this award is as much theirs as it is mine.”

“I think the Birmingham performance was definitely up there as one the best, the way we executed our game plan was great and it was a solid all-round performance from the players and staff involved.

“This award is testament to all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes that everyone may not necessarily see.”
