Gold medalist and self-proclaimed Bristol City fan, Lily Owsley touches back down in the UK with Team GB.
Great Britain’s women made history with their first-ever Olympic gold medal after beating the Netherlands 2-0 on shootout.
The teams had traded goals in a pulsating 3-3 draw, with Bristolian Owlsey scoring in the first-half.
Twenty-one year old, Owsley pushed GB ahead from close range after excellent stick work from Sophie Bray.
The game ended in a shootout with the pressure on Hollie Webb to slot the winner. She held her nerve to take the gold.
"Winning the gold was worth missing the first three City games of the season," said Owsley who landed back in the UK today.
It is safe to day, Lee Johnson and his squad can't argue with that.
Johnson tweeted; "Congrats to @LilyOwsley for the fantastic effort and Olympic gold medal!"
