Bristol City’s annual Community Match raised over £10,000 for Hengrove Athletic and Bristol City Community Trust.
Lee Johnson’s side ran out 7-0 winners at Norton Lane but the real victors were Hengrove and the Trust.
The funds generated from the day will be equally split between the local football club and the charity, going a long way to aid the future of both.
Hengrove will use their share of the proceeds to develop their ground, while BCCT can increase their assistance in the delivery and development of worthwhile programmes and services within grassroots sport through the Bristol region.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in this year’s Community Match,” Community Trust business manager Dan White said.
“It was a huge success and the feedback received has been extremely positive.
“A huge thanks must go to Hengrove Athletic for hosting the fixture, in particular their chairman Michael Greatbanks.
“These fixtures are a fantastic opportunity to bring the fanbase of local clubs together, and for young supporters to meet their favourite players.
“Lee Johnson, his squad and backroom staff were all fantastic in making it a day to remember for everyone in attendance.”
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
