Goalscorer Matty Taylor reflected on a "perfect" night for City after they beat QPR away for the first time in 41 years.
The striker gave City a half-time lead before his forward partner Andreas Weimann headed City 2-0 up shortly after the break. The Austrian then capped off the evening at Loftus Road with a tap in shortly before full time.
"I enjoyed the game, I'm delighted to have won the game and to have grabbed a goal as well," Taylor told BCTV after the full time whistle.
Describing his goal, Taylor said: "They (QPR) had a little spell, we had a little spell. There wasn’t too much in the game at the time but I saw the space down the channel and Brownhy played it. I chopped inside, hit the shot and it went in."
City went into the match seeking their first three points of the season, off the back of two impressive draws in the league before defeat at home to Middlesbrough last weekend.
The coaches had asked for a reaction on Tuesday night and the squad certainly gave them just that.
"We know the last game wasn’t good enough," Taylor continued. "So as a squad and the management we wanted to put it right. We had grit between our teeth and wanted to win every ball.
"We were more aggressive and it paid off because we got the three goals and a clean sheet which is nice."
Taylor and Weimann played virtually the entire game together as City's front two, with their combined workrate presenting problems for QPR.
And when asked about the partnership between Taylor and City's summer signing - who now has four goals in as many league games - he replied: "He’s grabbed a couple and I have one so it was perfect night really.
"We worked hard for the team which is what the gaffer wants and we got our rewards."
City return to competitive action on Saturday (August 25th, 3pm) when they take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in front a sold out away end. The club will be hosting a beamback for the Sky Bet Championship clash in Ashton Gate's Sports Bar & Pizzeria.
