O'Dowda's Ireland face Denmark showdown

Callum O'Dowda's Republic of Ireland have been handed a two-legged tie against Denmark in the World Cup play-offs.

City's winger has been a regular in the Irish squad throughout qualifying and was on the bench as his country clinched a play-off spot by beating Wales 1-0 in Cardiff.

Ireland will now travel to Denmark for the first leg, with the return fixture in Dublin just days later.

Dates for the two ties will be announced in due course, but they will be played during the November international break.

City skipper Bailey Wright faces a similar shootout with Honduras to reach the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Aussies travel to Central America on November 10th, with the second leg to be played on November 15th in Sydney.
