Callum O’Dowda completed 90 minutes in Republic of Ireland’s 3-1 defeat to Mexico in the early hours of this morning.
The 22-year-old winger earned his fifth cap for his country in the friendly international, which acted as a warm-up for the crucial World Cup qualifier at home to Austria on June 11th.
Goals from Jesus Corona, Raul Jimenez and Carlos Vela put the Mexicans in control before substitute Stephen Gleeson registered a consolation strike for Martin O’Neill’s side in New Jersey.
Ireland will finalise their preparations for the Austria game with another friendly against Uruguay in Dublin on Sunday.
