City winger Callum O'Dowda is almost ready for first-team football but Matty Taylor may be another week away.
Republic of Ireland international O'Dowda damaged his ankle in a tackle during the 3-2 win away to Hull City.
While the Easter period is set to be too soon, the 22-year-old wide attacker looks set for gametime with the City Under-23s.
Speaking ahead of the trip to Barnsley on Good Friday (March 30th, 3pm kick-off) City head coach Lee Johnson told BCTV the player has made "good" progress, adding: "Callum is chomping at the bit.
"He’s almost ready to go and we’re looking to get him some Under-23s action first."
O'Dowda himself said he feared the worst when hearing his ankle "crack" during the challenge at the KCOM Stadium.
However, on Matty Taylor (hernia) Johnson said: "He is slightly behind but if he can get a full week’s training next week then that will be a successful come back trail."
England international and World Cup winner, Sophie Halhead will join the Bears Women board ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
