O'Donnell Exits For Rotherham

Richard O’Donnell has joined Rotherham United for an undisclosed fee.

The goalkeeper moves on permanently, signing a deal until the summer of 2019 with the New York Stadium club.

O’Donnell, 28, originally joined City in January 2016 on loan from Wigan Athletic to cover for injured Frank Fielding.

However, the deal quickly became permanent following head coach Lee Johnson’s arrival at Ashton Gate.

He began the 2016/17 season between the sticks, but Frank Fielding’s return to fitness has seen chances limited for the custodian since October time.

O’Donnell now returns to Rotherham, where he briefly spent time on loan in 2008 without making a first-team appearance.

In total he made 32 appearances for City during his loan and permanent spells.

Everyone at the club would like to wish Richard all the very best for his future career.
