Lee Johnson has confirmed Academy product Max O’Leary will make his league debut at Brentford on Saturday (October 20th, 3pm).
The head coach revealed Niki Mäenpää has been unable to shake off an injury sustained against Sheffield Wednesday last time out, while fellow shot-stopper Frank Fielding is recovering at home from viral meningitis.
“Max O’Leary will start on Saturday, which is fantastic,” Johnson exclusively told bcfc.co.uk. “He’s been training, he’s ready to step up and I believe in him 100 per cent.
“As an Academy product we’re delighted for him. It’s his league debut, he’s played a couple of cup games but we think he’s ready.
“He will need the support from everybody, fans and players, but he’s deserved his chance and I am looking forward to seeing another Academy product celebrate his league debut!"
City will be backed by 1,610 supporters in a sold out away end at Griffin Park and fans without a ticket are urged to not travel as they will not gain entry to the stadium.
