City’s Max O’Leary may not have expected to feature as often as he has this season, but he’s loved the chance as the Robins push for a strong finish.
He’ll be hoping to retain the City jersey against Reading following his Man of the Match display at Villa Park last weekend, which earned him a place in the EFL Team of the Week.
He's wowed fans with a number of good displays, racking up 12 appearances in all competitions this season, 11 in the Sky Bet Championship so far and the experience has done wonders for the 22-year-old keeper.
“I’m really enjoying my football. I’ve played a lot more games probably than I thought I would and every game’s an opportunity, for me to show what I’m about and for us to go and try and win games as a football club as well,” O’Leary said.
“It’s great to play in front of big crowds I really enjoy that occasion and try to rise to it and take it in my stride.
“Every game’s a big game and you want to win them all., especially with it being this tight towards the end of the season. It’s a great opportunity and make every big game count and get as many wins as we can.”
City host Reading on Good Friday (April 19th, 12pm KO) with the teams battling at differing ends of the Championship table. Reading are fighting to avoid relegation and that presents a tough encounter with important points to play for.
O’Leary added: “A lot of the teams down near the bottom of the table have been tough for us this year and they’ve put up good games against us, especially someone like Reading, they are going to bring a good game to us on Friday but I think we’re prepared and ready to go again.”
City v Reading is the penultimate home game of the scheduled season, with Derby County in BS3 on April 27th (3pm KO).
With just a few days to go until Elton John plays at Ashton Gate, concert-goers are urged to take advantage of special event Shuttle Buses laid on to help get fans to and from the stadium.
