Bailey Wright says friendship will go out of the window on his first return to Deepdale tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).
The Australian international left Preston North End for City in January and is now busy preparing to head back to his old stomping ground this evening.
Wright spent eight enjoyable years as a professional at Deepdale but insists he is fully focused on City matters tonight.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Wright told Bristol City Player HD ahead of his return.
“It will be a bit strange going back there and being in the away dressing room.
“I’ve got lots of people there I know well but once you go out on the pitch there are no friends. Our aim is to go there and win the game.
“We were all frustrated after Saturday. We’d gone into the international break on such a high with the win over Huddersfield.
“We were all disappointed with our performance on Saturday but the beauty of this league is that games come quick and fast, so we have an opportunity to put things right tonight.”
He added: “I played there for years and enjoyed my time there so hopefully I’ll get a good reception, but we’ll see.
“The expectations were for Preston to do better than last season. At the minute they are doing just that and although they are close to the play-offs, there’s no pressure on them to achieve it.
“They have a good bunch of players and have a good setup there. I want them to do well – but not tonight!”
