Newport County friendly rearranged

City's pre-season fixture with Newport County will take place as a behind-closed-doors friendly.

Lee Johnson’s side will take on the South Wales club as part of their preparations for the 2018/19 season, which kicks off on August 4th.

After both City and Newport County reviewed the fixture, and with a potential semi-final fixture for England at the World Cup, the costs of staging the match would far outweigh any revenue derived from it, therefore meaning it would not be commercially viable.

Pre-season fixtures:

Sunday, July 8th (2pm) v Bitton AFC (A)
Tuesday, July 10th (7.30pm) v Cheltenham Town (N)
Saturday, July 14th (1pm) v Shrewsbury Town (H)
Tuesday, July 17th (8pm local time) v Real Balompédica Linense (A)
Saturday, July 21st (8pm local time) v Rayo Vallecano (A)
Friday, July 27th (7pm) v AFC Bournemouth (H)
