City’s new training ground construction is flying along and we can bring you an exclusive look at the dramatic progress made.
Using timelapse and drone footage from the past 10 months, Robins TV gives you an aerial view of the Failand site being transformed into a state-of-the-art complex.
City Chief Executive Officer Mark Ashton said: “We are delighted how it’s going and we are on track to move in by early Spring next year. Despite COVID-19 restrictions and adverse weather Beard and MJ Abbott are making steady progress. The pitches are almost ‘stitched’ and with the floodlights up and windows in the building you can really see it all coming together. The fact that the players can see that progress every day when they come into training is a real boost.”
Located next to the current training pitches, the site will bring together the club’s Academy and senior team for the first time and will include a floodlit showpitch, capable of hosting the club’s Under-18 and Under-23 matches, two other full-size pitches and two further training areas.
The facility will also encompass a gym, changing rooms, medical, rehabilitation and performance facilities and office space, as well as education and welfare facilities for City’s young players.
Ancillary works, including the upgrading of Clevedon Road near the site, are also progressing.
The training ground is being built by locally-based Beard Construction with pitches by MJ Abbott.
Stay tuned to City channels for further updates.
