✍️ Naismith is a Red

Kal Naismith has joined the Robins on a three-year deal.

The 30-year-old, who arrives as a free agent having departed Luton Town at the end of the season, has signed a three-year contract in BS3.

The versatile defender racked up 45 appearances in all competitions for the Hatters during their run to the play-off semi-finals, making 11 goal contributions with three goals and eight assists.

Naismith was on hand to provide one of his eight assists against Huddersfield Town in Luton’s recent play-off semi-final defeat to the Terriers.

Since joining Luton Town back in January 2021, the Scot has gone on to make 68 appearances and has been a vital cog in the recent success of Nathan Jones' side.

Naismith’s stellar season for the Hatters’ was capped with the versatile defender being voted Players’ Player of the Season, LTFC Player of the Year as well as scooping the Goal of Season accolade for his injury-time strike against Bournemouth.

Speaking to Robins TV for the first time, Naismith said: “It feels great to get it done and it feels brilliant to be here. It's a huge club and I'm just massively excited to be a part of it."

"We wanted to get it done quickly so I can enjoy time off with my family, and ultimately look forward and know where I'm going to be, come the start of the season.

"There is everything here for this club to be successful on the pitch and ultimately it's up to the players and everyone to give everything every day and always try to get better day-in-day-out. I believe if we do that it will stand us in good stead."
