Ádám Nagy says the midweek defeat to Queens Park Rangers will fuel a big City response against the West London outfit who head to Ashton Gate this Saturday (August 17th, 3pm KO).
Rangers may have advanced in the Carabao Cup via the penalty shootout win, but City are now fully focused on Saturday’s showdown in the Sky Bet Championship.
Midfielder Nagy is looking forward to the prospect of playing at Ashton Gate for the very first time and he wants BS3 to be a place QPR and other opponents will fear.
City’s summer signing said: “I’m really, really excited because it is my first home game. It is important for me as a player and as a team that when we are playing at home, the stadium has to be a fort.
“Every team who comes here knows they will struggle and they have to play for a draw otherwise we can win. That has to be our goal at home, to win every game and to entertain our fans.
“We are really disappointed by the [Carabao Cup] result. It was a 3-3 draw and a tough penalty shootout at the end. We are really sad and disappointed we couldn’t win the game but it gives us extra motivation to win the next game on Saturday against them.
“It’s nice, a bit strange that we play them twice in the same week but I wouldn’t say it makes our preparation any easier. Just because we played against them, we don’t know what to expect, how they will play, what system they will use. But because we lost if gives us extra motivation to win against them.”
There’s a special £10 City Members offer available for Saturday’s encounter, with at least 20,000 supporters guaranteed to be cheering from the stands and there’s still time to secure your seat.
